Take a moment to unwind in North Limburg

From late summer right through to late autumn, various types of fruit, vegetables and other local produce are harvested. The exact range varies depending on the product, location and weather conditions. There are various farm shops in North Limburg selling fresh produce. In autumn, apples, pears, pumpkins and strawberries are among the main fresh produce on offer. Potatoes, carrots, onions, beetroot, leeks and cabbage are also harvested in abundance. In addition, juice, syrup, jam, wine and cheese are popular items from local producers such as Boerderijwinkel Jeuken, Boerderijwinkel Rasing America and Streekwinkel de Gerdeneer.

• Baarlo Fruit Farm in Baarlo: here, apples, various pears, plums, mirabelle plums and other fruit are grown. They also make juices from their own fruit.
• Rasing in America Farm Shop: this farmer grows leeks and carrots, amongst other things, and also sells a varied selection of fruit and vegetables.
• Van Cleef Fruit Farm in Belfeld: this fruit farm sells apples and pears, as well as other local produce such as pear juice from its own orchard.
• De Drakenbijen Beekeeping in Beesel: here you’ll find, amongst other things, Limburg honey and various other types of honey.
• Geitengeluk in Siebengewald: the farm produces cheese and other dairy products from the milk of its own goats and sells them through the farm shop.
• At Wis in Broekhuizenvorst: here you can tap fresh milk and buy young, matured farmhouse cheese made from their own milk.
• De Boerderijtuin / Hallo Weer Pompoenen in Ysselsteyn: the pick-your-own garden yields vegetables, fruit, herbs and plenty of pumpkins in autumn.

Harvest time, late summer and autumn bring different activities every year. Think of fruit-picking days, local markets, guided tours and outdoor activities for the whole family. Of course, you can also go walking, cycling, sample local produce, visit farm shops and stay overnight in the countryside. In the events calendar, you’ll find current events and seasonal activities.

Autumn is also an ideal time to get out into nature. Put on your walking boots and discover special nature reserves such as De Groote Peel National Park, De Maasduinen National Park and the Mookerheide. Smaller nature reserves such as Het Schuitwater are also lovely for a walk along the water’s edge.

In North Limburg, you can stay at campsites, in holiday cottages, bed-and-breakfasts and hotels close to nature. Choose accommodation near the route or activity you wish to enjoy.
