Nestled amongst woods, hills and the Mookerheide, you’ll find ’t Zwaantje. Here, you can enjoy a cosy stay, savour sumptuous meals and step straight into the great outdoors. Perfect for an active weekend or a romantic getaway.
Who is this a real getaway for?
’t Zwaantje is ideal for couples, walkers, cyclists and those seeking peace and quiet who prefer a small, cosy place to stay.
When will you visit?
Come in spring for refreshing walking trails, in summer for a long evening on a terrace, or in autumn to enjoy the colours of the woodland. It’s a lovely place even on a grey day: take off your coat, have a coffee and just relax for a while.
What to expect.
At Herberg Restaurant ’t Zwaantje, your stay begins right on the edge of the countryside. As you drive out of Mook, the trees draw closer and suddenly there it is: that cosy inn. Inside, the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial. Think comfortable rooms, a hearty breakfast and staff who simply help you in a friendly way, without any fuss. The inn has seven cosy hotel rooms and four outdoor hotel rooms – little cottages where you can really soak up that outdoor feeling.
During the day, you can head out to the woods, the hills or Mookerplas. Afterwards, you can pop in for lunch, dinner or a drink. The kitchen uses fresh, daily-sourced produce, preferably regional, and the menu changes several times a year. Did you know that ’t Zwaantje is also a purveyor to the royal household? That fits in well with its blend of tradition and simply looking after its guests.
Why this will be your favourite stop in the region
Its location makes ’t Zwaantje a real gem. You’re in Mook, right at the northernmost tip of North Limburg, with hills, woods and water within easy reach. This naturally sets the tone for your stay: active outdoors, then cosy indoors. It is precisely this warm hospitality that characterises North Limburg.
Plan for a stay of at least one night, but two nights are just that little bit nicer here if you also want to go walking, cycling and enjoy a good meal. Parking is available on site. Pets are not permitted in the hotel rooms. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options for breakfast are available via the booking information, but please always let us know your dietary requirements in advance.
When are the gates open?
You are welcome from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 am to midnight. On Sundays, ’t Zwaantje opens at 9.00 am and closes at 11.00 pm. The kitchen is open from 12.00 to 16.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00.
Our tip
Book a countryside hotel room if you’re looking for that extra bit of a weekend getaway feel. You’ll sleep in your own little cottage and then simply stroll over to the restaurant for breakfast or dinner.
Region tip: The icon in the neighbourhood
Combine your stay with a visit to Mookerheide Hunting Lodge. From ’t Zwaantje, it takes about 8 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bike. First, a walk through the countryside, followed by coffee or lunch in a restored hunting lodge: that’s the sort of combination that really sticks in the memory.
