When do you visit?
In late summer, when the heather turns purple, it is beautiful here. But even on a clear day in winter, the view from the tower is often the sharpest. Actually, you can visit here all year round; in summer the trees offer nice shade and in autumn you walk among the most beautiful colours.

What to expect.
Expect an honest slice of nature at the region's highest point. You'll hike along dirt paths past quiet fens and open plains. The info-stops along the way also make the route interesting for youngsters. Did you know that the name of this area has a historical tinge? It is believed that this used to be a place where the horse, as a special animal, was central to ancient rituals. Count on about an hour and a half for a nice tour including the climb up. Park your car for free at the car park on Paardekopweg, where the walking routes start directly. Your dog can come along, if kept on a short leash so as not to disturb the wildlife in the area. The paths are unpaved and can be a bit muddy after a rain shower, so wear sturdy shoes.

When are the gates open?
You are welcome here every day from sunrise to sunset. As access to the area and the tower is free, you can step in at any time of day for a spontaneous adventure in the North Limburg countryside.
