Nestled between the River Meuse, the Peel and vast fields, North Limburg has been thriving for generations. Here, you can buy asparagus straight from the farmer, walk past fruit trees in full blossom and sample local produce that has often travelled just a few kilometres. From farm shops and beekeepers to windmills, bakeries and distilleries: everywhere you go, you’ll discover the flavour of good soil.
Sometimes you’ll find these stories on a farmyard, sometimes in an orchard, an old mill or at a kitchen table where home-grown produce has been used for years. Cycle past asparagus fields, sample Limburg vlaai, discover how honey is made or spend the night amongst the fields. If you look closely, you’ll see that the landscape here isn’t just beautiful; it also forms the basis for everything that grows, flourishes and ends up on the table.
In North Limburg, craftsmanship, local produce and farm life come together.
At Restaurant SOBER, everything revolves around the simplicity of nature. Dishes are inspired by a walk through the woods, a day in the vegetable garden or a good conversation over a glass of wine. Pure, creative and with an appreciation for what the season has to offer.
But SOBER is more than just a restaurant. Here you can taste produce sourced directly from the hunter, fisherman, farmer or market gardener. Vegetables are grown with care in the restaurant’s own garden, and even the wines come from the estate’s own vineyards. Authentic, artisanal and unpretentious. Simply good food, straight from the heart.
