Grain distillery the Kingfisher

In the nature reserve Barbara's Weerd, near the restored Wijmarsche Watermolen, you will find Grain Distillery De IJsvogel. A traditional distillery where real distillation still takes place. Here, alcohol is made from beer and wine in the traditional way in the middle of a working water mill. De IJsvogel is known for its special regional products. Think asparagus liqueur, blueberry liquorette, fruit juice liquorettes and mustard. Pure flavours, prepared with attention and skill. During a guided tour, you will see two crafts come together: that of the miller and that of the distiller. You will discover how grain is milled and how tasty drinks are made from it. De IJsvogel also organises hikes, liqueur-making workshops and various tastings.
