This is a great spot for home cooks, cyclists and anyone who loves fresh produce straight from the farm. You’ll come here for asparagus fresh from the field, strawberries that smell of summer and local produce to take home. No fuss, just good food and a friendly chat in the shop.
When will you visit?
Be sure to visit in spring, when asparagus is in abundance. The season runs roughly from mid-March to the end of June, with asparagus available from the vending machine from 20 March to 21 June in 2026. From April onwards, strawberries join the selection. Outside opening hours, the vending machine is there to help, which is handy if you want to pick up something fresh after work.
What to expect.
At Jeuken, it’s all about home-grown asparagus and strawberries. After harvesting, the asparagus is sorted, given a water bath and can be peeled for you straight away in the shop. Did you know that an asparagus spear can grow up to 7 centimetres a day? In the shop, you’ll also find local produce from nearby farmers.
Allow 20 to 45 minutes for your visit, depending on how long you spend looking around. The farm shop is situated on Stationsweg in Oostrum, near Venray, with fields nearby and the tranquillity of the countryside all around you. Parking is available at the shop; the gate to the car park is open from around 07.00 to 21.30. There is no clear, fixed information online regarding dogs, accessibility or dietary requirements, so please ring in advance if this is important to you.
When are you welcome?
You are welcome from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.00 and on Saturdays from 09.00 to 16.00. The shop is closed on Sundays, but the vending machine remains accessible.

At Jeuken Farm Shop, asparagus is available from around 20 March to 21 June. This is the period when the ‘white gold’ is harvested fresh from the field. You can buy the asparagus in the farm shop and, in season, also via the vending machine.
