Campland Arcen

Campland Arcen is a small-scale, cosy holiday park in North Limburg where you can stay in unique pods right by the water. It is the ideal spot for nature lovers who want to enjoy peace and quiet, a communal campfire and the nearby Maasduinen.

Who is this a real getaway for?

Campland is ideal for couples seeking peace and quiet, walkers and cyclists who like to head straight into nature from their accommodation, and families with young children. You don’t need to be entertained all day here. Being outdoors, having breakfast together and exploring the surroundings at your own pace are all part of the experience.

When will you visit?

On a crisp spring or autumn day, it’s lovely to come home to a heated pod after a walk or a cycle ride. In summer, you’ll mainly be spending time outdoors, enjoying long evenings surrounded by greenery. On really hot days, do bear in mind that temperatures inside the pods may rise. A fan is provided to help keep you cool.

What to expect.

At Campland Arcen, you don’t just sleep next to nature – you sleep right in the middle of it. The wooden pod houses are situated on a site near a former sand and gravel quarry that has been returned to nature. Water, rugged greenery and narrow paths define the view here. In the evening, you can head to one of the communal fire pits, and in the morning, if you book in advance, you can collect your breakfast from the coffee pod.

You choose the level of comfort that suits you best. The Natuurpod keeps it simple, with a bed, mini-fridge, heating and shared toilet facilities. The Familypod has four fixed sleeping places and its own toilet. If you’d like more convenience, the Panorama XL has its own bathroom, kitchenette and a large window overlooking the water. Did you know that the Koffiepod serves free coffee, tea and hot chocolate to guests all day long?

The atmosphere is intimate and focused on being outdoors. Children can play on the playground equipment, and from Campland you can easily cycle towards De Maasduinen. Good to know: the site is still partly under development and the vegetation isn’t fully grown everywhere. On hot summer days, the pods can also get quite warm. A fan is provided, though. It’s precisely this simple approach that suits the place so well: no fuss, plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors together.

Why this will be your favourite stop in the region

Here, you can combine a peaceful night’s sleep with plenty of North Limburg within easy reach. Arcen, the River Meuse and De Maasduinen National Park are nearby, and Campland is a handy starting point for various cycle routes. Another bonus: you can hire a bike on site and order breakfast in advance. For a day surrounded by flowers and greenery, the Arcen Castle Gardens are also nearby.

Practical info

Two or three nights will give you plenty of time to really get into the rhythm of Campland and explore Arcen and De Maasduinen. Arcen has a lively yet friendly atmosphere, with outdoor cafés, green spaces and the River Maas nearby. Your car will be parked in the main car park. You cannot drive right up to your pod, so please bear in mind that you’ll need to carry your luggage from the car park. Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead on the site and are not left alone in the pod. Campland charges €12.50 per dog per booking for this.

When are the gates open?

Your pod will be ready for you from 3.00 pm. On the day of departure, please check out by 10.30 am. You’ll receive details about your pod and the code for the key box in advance, so you won’t need to visit reception first. For enquiries about bookings, Campland is available from Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.

Our tip

Order breakfast at least one day in advance and hire a bike straight away for the following morning. Start with a leisurely breakfast at your pod, then head straight to De Maasduinen. That way, you’ll get just that little bit more out of your stay without needing to use the car again.
