National Park De Groote Peel is a vast and beautiful nature reserve, where you can walk over boardwalks through peat bog landscapes, spot birds and enjoy plenty of peace and nature.
National Park De Groote Peel is a unique high moorland area of about 1 400 hectares that is among the most important natural gems in the Netherlands. Here you can wander along footpaths through a mix of marshes, heaths, water lakes and enjoy the views and silence along the way. De Groote Peel is best known for its many bird species, from bittern to small waterfowl, and the variety of plants.
Various walking routes, from short explorations to longer day trips, start from Buitencentrum De Pelen, and excursions and activities are organised regularly for visitors of all ages. From the watchtower you can see the landscape far and wide, and with binoculars you can discover even more of the nature around you.
