As soon as the imposing hunting lodge appears among the trees, it feels as if you step into another world. Built in 1904 in art nouveau style, the building is one of the most striking monuments in northern Limburg. Inside, you will find a warm, homely atmosphere where history and hospitality go hand in hand.

Join us for a cup of coffee and cake, an extensive lunch, a cosy drink or dinner after a walk on the estate. The kitchen works with fresh ingredients and takes inspiration from the season. Around the hunting lodge are special gardens, footpaths and viewpoints that invite you to stay a while longer.

Did you know that client Jan Jacob Luden had his hunting lodge designed at the time with almost complete creative freedom for the architects? That resulted in a unique art nouveau building that still evokes admiration today.

Jachtslot Mookerheide is located in one of the most beautiful spots in North Limburg, on the edge of the Mookerheide and close to the river Maas. You can effortlessly combine a visit with a walk through nature or an exploration of Plasmolen, Mook and Molenhoek. The feeling of space, tranquillity and hospitality makes this a place you will love to return to.

For a visit, it is best to count on two to four hours. Many guests combine lunch or dinner with a walk on Landgoed Mookerheide. Molenhoek has a peaceful, green atmosphere and is a nice gateway to the northernmost part of northern Limburg. In 2026, the estate organises regular guided tours, nature activities and seasonal events. Current dates can be found on the Jachtslot Mookerheide and Natuurmonumenten websites. Free parking is available and Molenhoek train station is within walking distance. Dogs are welcome on the terrace. The restaurant has a lift and is largely accessible for visitors with reduced mobility. For dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us in advance.

When are the gates open?

You are welcome seven days a week for coffee, lunch, drinks or dinner. On weekdays, the doors usually open around 11:00, on weekends from 10:00. Actual opening hours may vary by season, so always check the website before you leave.
