Invisibly ill: Epilepsy

Information evening: ‘Invisible Illnesses’ – Epilepsy This autumn, Lotgenoten, Synthese and BiblioNu are organising a new event in the ‘Invisible Illnesses’ series. This time, the focus is on epilepsy. Epilepsy is a condition in which people can suffer seizures as a result of a sudden, temporary disruption of the electrical signals in the brain. It is estimated that between 120,000 and 200,000 people in the Netherlands live with epilepsy, approximately 1 in 150 people. This makes it one of the most common brain disorders. Although epilepsy can develop at any age, it is most common in children and the elderly.
