Who is this a real getaway for?

This is a wonderful place for peace seekers, hikers, cyclists and couples who like to be outdoors without crowds around them. Even if you're out and about solo and just want some time to yourself, this is the place to be. From 2026, Den Buizerd is adults-only, so the atmosphere here remains extra quiet and relaxed. Looking for a campsite where you wake up to birds instead of a rush? Then this is the place to be.

When will you visit?

From spring onwards, it is already nice here. Especially when the first sunny days fall through the forest and you immediately feel like taking long walks or cycling around the estate. The campsite is open from 29 March to 29 September. Especially in spring and autumn, it is extra nice here, because then nature around you gets all the space it needs and it feels even quieter.

What to expect.

Count on a stay full of peace, space and greenery. Den Buizerd has 20 individual, spacious and bright pitches in a wooded area, with 6 amp electricity and free wireless internet at reception. Here you are close to the Geijsteren golf course and in the middle of an area where walking and cycling almost come naturally. Did you know that you have a good chance of seeing a roe deer here in the early morning?

Feel free to set aside a few days for this place, but a longer stay will also fit very nicely here. The surroundings feel peaceful and green, with forests, fens and estate trails all around you. You are also close to the Pieterpad and within cycling distance of De Maasduinen National Park. Parking is practically arranged on site. Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash. For shopping you can go to Wanssum, about 2.5 kilometres away.

When are you welcome?

You are welcome from 29 March to 29 September. Check-in is possible from 13:00 and on the day of departure, clear your spot by 12:00. Between 23.00 and 07.00 it is supposed to be quiet here, which exactly suits the atmosphere of this campsite. Good to know: you need a valid nature camping card for this campsite. This can also be bought on site, while stocks last.

Our tip for your visit

Here, get up early and take a little tour of Landgoed Geijsteren before breakfast. Just then, you can almost only hear birds and are most likely to spot wildlife. Afterwards, your coffee at your camping spot will taste even better.

The icon nearby

The most beautiful combo from Den Buizerd is Landgoed Geijsteren itself. You camp in the middle of it, so you roll right out of your seat onto the estate, past old white buildings, the castle ruins and paths where it feels like time runs a little slower. If you want to make your day even bigger, National Park De Maasduinen is also a golden sequel, within cycling distance of the campsite.
