At Blauwebessenland, you can stroll amongst the bushes, pick your own blueberries in season and sit down to enjoy some cake or ice cream. In the shop, you can take the taste of the Peel home with you, from fresh berries to jam, juice and syrup.
Blauwebessenland is ideal for families looking to enjoy outdoor activities together, for cyclists fancying a tasty break, and for anyone keen to see where a local produce comes from. Children can join in the fun in the fields and let off steam in the small playground. Are you coming with family, friends or colleagues? Guided tours are available for groups of six or more.
Summer is at its best here. The pick-your-own season usually runs from July until around mid-August, depending on the weather and the harvest. You can then stroll amongst the laden bushes and pick out the ripest berries yourself. For a guided tour, you can also enquire about options outside the picking season.
At Blauwebessenland, you step right into the story of the blueberry. The site was established in 2013, when Tom and Gaby set up a shop and visitor centre alongside their parents’ farm. Surrounding the shop are the plots where the berries are grown in an environmentally conscious manner. In July and August, you can buy fresh blueberries and, harvest permitting, wander among the bushes with a little bucket to search for ripe ones yourself. No booking is required for the pick-your-own. First, pop into the shop, have your own bucket weighed or grab one from the shop, and then you can start picking.
On the terrace, you can take your time to enjoy a coffee, blueberry cake or ice cream. In the shop, you’ll find fresh and processed products from their own harvest, including jam, juice, syrup, dried berries and various drinks. Some of these products are made in their own kitchen; for others, Blauwebessenland collaborates with local producers.
Did you know there are twelve different varieties in the pick-your-own orchard? Tasting them will help you discover which one you like best. For groups of six or more, there are also guided tours explaining the cultivation process and a walk through the field. This way, a simple stop for fruit quickly turns into a relaxing glimpse behind the scenes at a real grower’s farm.
Here, you’re not just buying a punnet of fruit. You’ll stroll past the spot where the berries grow, chat to people who know the produce inside out and sample what’s made from the harvest. That personal touch makes for a cosy, authentically local visit.

Allow about one to one and a half hours for the shop, the terrace and a spot of pick-your-own. With a guided tour or a long coffee break, you can easily stay a little longer. America has a rural and peaceful feel, with fields, nature and tourist attractions nearby.
