Who is this a real getaway for?

This is a wonderful place for hikers, cyclists and couples who like to stay small. If you walk the Pieterpad, then you are in an extra good spot here, as De Palmen is almost right next to it. Even if you just want to spend a few days in the north of Limburg and love peace, greenery and a warm welcome, this will soon feel like a fine base.

When will you visit?

In spring and autumn, this is one of those places where walking shoes automatically want to go outside. This is when the air is fresh, nature is at its most beautiful and you are in the Maasduinen in no time. But in summer too, this is a great base, especially if you want to be out and about during the day and land quietly in the evening.

What to expect.

You stay here in a small-scale B&B or studio with its own entrance, private bathroom and a catered breakfast to start your day off right. Inside, you have a fridge, microwave, smart TV and free wifi, among other things. Did you know you could also rent e-choppers here to explore the area in a different way? In fact, that says it all about this place: nice and practical, but fun with it.

For a one- or two-night stay, you'll soon be right here, especially if you combine it with hiking or cycling. You stay in a quiet residential area in Afferden, close to the Afferdse Hei, the Pieterpad and National Park De Maasduinen. Parking is available at the accommodation. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed here. No clear visitor info was found about wheelchair accessibility, so a call is smart if that is important for your stay. For dietary requirements, it is most obvious to check in advance; there is breakfast and a kitchenette to heat something up, but you cannot cook a meal in the B&B itself.

When are you welcome?

There are no public opening hours like a museum or restaurant here, as you naturally come by appointment and booking. What can be found publicly though: check-in is possible from 4pm and check-out until 11am. So contacting us in advance remains smart.

Our tip for your visit

Really use The Palms as a hiking stop and not just as a place to sleep. After breakfast, head straight for the Afferdse Hei or the Pieterpad. Just then you will notice how nicely situated this place is, because you will be in the middle of the greenery in no time.
