Central Baarlo is the beating heart of Baarlo. This is where conviviality, hospitality and encounters come together. Sit down for a cup of coffee, enjoy a tasty lunch or dinner and experience the convivial atmosphere that is so characteristic of this Meuse village.
Who is this the perfect getaway for?
Centraal Baarlo is perfect for you if you love a place with atmosphere, convenience and that little bit extra. It’s ideal for a long lunch with friends, a dinner for two, a cosy drink on the terrace or a weekend away where you don’t have to drive home. It’s also a truly wonderful spot for families, groups and anyone who wants to experience Baarlo in a lively way.
When will you pop in?
This place actually feels just right all year round. On sunny days, you’ll naturally want to sit outside here, precisely because the terrace is such a lovely draw. And when it gets colder, Centraal remains the sort of place you’ll love to pop into for warmth, a cosy atmosphere and something tasty to eat. If you visit in the summer, the ice cream bar makes it even more enjoyable. In winter, the chocolate bar adds that cosy touch.
What can you expect?
At Centraal Baarlo, it’s all about good food, hospitality and a place where people come together. You can visit for lunch, dinner, high tea, drinks, group gatherings, meetings and, more recently, an overnight stay in the boutique hotel. Did you know that in 2024, Centraal was named the best terrace in the Netherlands in the Terras Top 100? You can really feel that in the atmosphere: lively, well-kept and inviting.
If you’re coming for a meal or a drink, allow between one and a half and three hours for your visit. If you’re staying overnight, do stay a little longer, of course. The atmosphere around Centraal is both village-like and lively, right in the heart of Baarlo’s Markt. Parking is available on the Markt itself and there’s also plenty of space on Sprunklaan.
An added bonus is that Centraal uses local produce wherever possible. And if you’d like to stay overnight, since 2024 there have been five luxury rooms offering breakfast and Auping Original beds.
When are you welcome?
You’re welcome here from Sunday to Thursday from 10.00 to 00.00 and on Friday and Saturday from 10.00 to 01.00. That’s what makes Centraal such a lovely spot for everything from an early morning coffee to a long evening of dining or drinks.
Our tip for your visit
Don’t leave too early; instead, plan an afternoon or evening where you can really linger. Start on the terrace with a drink, then move on to dinner, and only then decide whether you want to head home. It’s precisely this relaxed pace that suits Centraal perfectly.
Regional tip: The local landmark
Combine your visit with a trip to De Keverberg Castle in Kessel. This combination is a real winner, as you can first soak up the history and the views over the River Meuse, before heading to Baarlo to enjoy the atmosphere, a meal and perhaps even an overnight stay. Suddenly, a day out feels like a mini-break.
We do our best to provide you with the right info, but before leaving, always check the site's own website for the very latest updates.
