De Peel Pick-Your-Own Garden

On the edge of the woodland in Griendtsveen lies Pluktuin De Peel. An ecological pick-your-own garden full of flowers, grasses, fruit trees and other greenery. Here, you can put together your own bouquet of flowers – not from a vase, but straight from the ground.

The garden began as a natural garden with dry valleys and space for animals and insects. Later, the pick-your-own garden was added. Thousands of different types of flowers and plants now grow there, ranging from perennials and annuals to a large number of dahlias. Birds, butterflies and other animals are also drawn to the garden.

Pick your own and take it easy

On arrival, you’ll be given a basket or bucket and instructions on how to pick the flowers. After that? Just enjoy a leisurely stroll amongst the flowers. Children are also welcome to join in, provided they are supervised.

Fancy a stroll? Then take a short walk through the nature garden. Or find a spot on the Mediterranean-style terrace by the pond. With a cup of coffee, tea or lemonade and a view towards the woods, it’s a lovely place to sit.

As well as flower picking, Pluktuin De Peel organises workshops, yoga sessions and guided tours, amongst other things. Groups are also welcome by appointment.

I’m delighted by the peaceful atmosphere, the abundance of flowers and the personal welcome. In particular, the opportunity to put together your own bouquet and the care taken in wrapping the flowers are much appreciated. The terrace overlooking the garden and the woods also makes it a lovely place to linger a little longer.
