Who is this a real getaway for?

This is a place for families with children, those seeking peace and quiet, cyclists and walkers who prefer small-scale accommodation. If you’re visiting with young children, this is an ideal spot thanks to the trampoline, go-karts, sandpit, petting zoo and the fenced-off outdoor swimming pool. And if you’d rather wake up in a peaceful spot with nothing but the sound of birdsong around you, then Bergerhof will feel just right straight away.

When will you visit?

In spring, it’s a lovely spot to sit amidst the fresh greenery and hop straight onto a bike or a walking route. In summer, this is exactly the sort of place where the children want to pop into the swimming pool for a quick dip and you’ll find yourself lingering outside just a little longer. And in autumn, the tranquillity of the farmyard perhaps feels at its best. If you’re heading out with the family to Toverland, this also makes for a lovely base.

What to expect.

At Bergerhof, you’ll stay on a historic farm dating from 1900, featuring holiday accommodation and a mini-campsite in the fruit orchard. During the day, you can easily head out into the countryside or into Sevenum, and afterwards you’ll return to a place where everything feels intimate, cosy and wonderfully relaxed. Did you know that the campsite’s toilet facilities will be completely refurbished by 2024? You’ll notice the difference straight away.

For Bergerhof, a weekend or midweek break is just right. You’ll find yourself in a rural, wooded corner of Sevenum, with walking and cycling opportunities almost on your doorstep and lovely day trips nearby. Free parking is available on site. Dogs are welcome at the mini-campsite, though it’s a good idea to check in advance. Good to know: there are no separate toilet facilities for people with reduced mobility. When it comes to dietary requirements, you’re in the right place here, as you can cook for yourself in the apartments and there are plenty of lovely places to eat in the surrounding area.

When are you welcome?

You’re welcome here as soon as your stay is booked. For the mini-campsite, check-in is from 1.00 pm and check-out is before 12.00 noon. During holiday periods, accommodation is mainly booked by the weekend, midweek or week, with check-in and check-out days on Mondays and Fridays. It’s a good idea to check availability in advance, especially during the busier holiday periods.

Our tip for your visit

Book your stay in July or August if you’re coming with children. That’s when the fenced-off outdoor swimming pool is open, making it just that bit easier to turn your stay into a proper holiday. Be sure to bring a bag of marshmallows too, as a cosy evening campfire really adds to the atmosphere here.

Bergerhof Slapen combines a peaceful orchard with just the right amount of fun for children. The swimming pool is a lovely bonus, though clearly seasonal. The mini-campsite is not intended for large groups or noisy weekends. This helps to maintain the friendly atmosphere.
