Coffee shop The Genuujerie

Koffieschenkerij Genuujerie opened its doors in 2007 and is located in an old farmhouse, hidden behind 't bekende kapelke van Genuuje. And those who walk the Pieterpad will almost automatically pass by. A place where history and hospitality go hand in hand. The chapel you see now dates from 1631. But Marian worship in Genooy is much older. The Mariendael convent was founded here as early as 1423. At the beginning of the last century, the chapel was given a new lease of life. In 1917, it was thoroughly restored by the well-known master builder Pierre Cuypers. He expanded the building with an ambulatory, side aisles and a separate cross chapel, giving the chapel its characteristic appearance as we know it today. At Genuujerie, you not only taste coffee and something tasty, but also a piece of North Limburg history. Simply, in a place where it has been a good place to be for centuries.
