Jammerdal

On the southern outskirts of Venlo lies a unique nature reserve with a rich history: the Jammerdal. Although the name might suggest otherwise, this area, also known as the Onderste and Bovenste Molen, is a beautiful place where nature and cultural history come together.

The landscape of the Jammerdal has largely been shaped by the extraction of clay and gravel. These small-scale excavation works have created a unique variety in the terrain. Walkers can enjoy a surprising variety of terrain here, with changes in elevation, woodland and water features. Thanks to this diversity, the area is a favourite spot for a wide variety of plants and animals.
