Do you like atmosphere, music, theatre and a place that feels just a little bit different from a regular venue? Then this is the place for you. In 2026, the agenda includes the Passion Games, K3 Live, Racoon and the Blues Festival De Doolhof.

When will you visit?

You prefer to come here on a mild spring or summer evening, when the light falls beautifully among the trees and you sense even before the performance that this will not be a standard night out. Even if the weather is questionable, you will still be comfortable here thanks to the covered gallery and canopied parts of the venue.

What to expect.

Expect a special mix of open-air feel, classic décor and a hefty dose of atmosphere. You are in a park of about 1.7 hectares with monumental trees, close to the centre of Tegelen. The large stage, the temple and the two palaces give each performance something extra. Did you know that De Doolhof was already built in 1926 and the visitors' section has been covered since 1967?

Practically, it is also just finely arranged. From Tegelen NS railway station you can walk straight to it, and the bus stop and a generous free parking facility are also a short walk away. If you come by car, you can get there quickly from the A67 or A73 motorways. For visitors with reduced mobility, it is smart to check beforehand: there is a ramp to the stands, but the venue also has differences in level, stairs, gates and paths. Assistance dogs are welcome; count on about 2-3 hours for your visit, depending on the event.

When are you welcome?

You are welcome on the days when something is scheduled. In 2026, at least, the season starts with the Children's Crusade on 3 April, followed by the Passion Games from 24 May and then several events in September, such as K3 Live on 6 September and Racoon on 11 September. The exact times vary by performance, so always check the programme of your event before leaving.

Our tip for your visit

If you can, choose a show that starts just towards evening. Then you will see the scenery slowly change with the light and that park feeling comes in even more beautifully. Especially with a concert or the Passion Plays, that really is such a golden extra.

Combine your visit with Monastery Village Steyl. That is nearby and is one of those places where you linger between history, tranquillity and beautiful spots along the Meuse. That combo is gold: first stroll through Steyl, then in the evening take to the stands at De Doolhof.
