Father Peter Jochum is the namesake of the beautiful botanical garden in the heart of the monastic village of Steyl: Jochumhof.
The flora and fauna in the garden originate from plant seeds collected by missionaries from all over the world and brought to life in Steyl. The giant sequoia is one of the most striking of these oddities.
The presence of a herb garden, a botanical garden, a Mediterranean greenhouse, a scented garden and a rock garden makes a visit to Jochumhof a sensory delight.
