This summer, Maaspoort will turn into the setting for Ouwehoeren: Club Lam's new series, recorded together with L1 and Omroep Venlo. For five evenings you can attend the filming live and witness up close how scenes are created, how comedy is created on the floor and how a series comes to life in Venlo.

About Ouwehoeren Two underprivileged thirty-somethings work in a bridal shop in the heart of Venlo. There, they sell the same patriarchal dream every day: getting married in virginal white, being given away by your father to another man and disappearing into someone else's surname. Secretly, they dream of that fairy tale themselves, but they just can't manage to become part of it.

Ouwehoeren is a madcap series about failure, dilemmas and love. For as much as we would like to believe that true love conquers all, reality can be quite disappointing. The grass seems greener, but behind every fairy tale lie failed attempts, awkward situations and horror dates.

Club Lam - Maaspoort house company Since 2023, Club Lam has been Maaspoort's house company. The feminist theatre collective makes idiosyncratic, topical and thought-provoking work that chafes, surprises and opens the conversation. Based in Venlo, Club Lam works at Maaspoort on new productions and special encounters with audiences. With Ouwehoeren, they bring those worlds together again in a series that is sharp, comical and painfully recognisable.
