The Renovation | Saskia Noort

After the success of Nieuwe Buren, the makers are once again bringing a thrilling thriller by bestselling author Saskia Noort to Dutch theatres. In De Verbouwing, top actors Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker shine in the leading roles.

Isa Hoes takes on the role of plastic surgeon Mathilde. Together with her husband Rogier and their daughter, she seems to lead the perfect life. But behind that facade, everything is crumbling. While Mathilde opens her brand new, state-of-the-art private clinic, her own house is in ruins due to a completely derailed renovation. Rogier is struggling with burnout and their daughter escapes the chaos by retreating to the garden house.

When Mathilde is forced to accept help from her dubious ex Johan, she finds herself in a dangerous game with no way out. Slowly but surely, she becomes entangled in an oppressive web of deception, lies and betrayal....

Edwin Jonker, who also previously starred in Nieuwe Buren, plays both the role of burnout-plagued husband Rogier and the charismatic but unreliable Johan. The role of the daughter is played by young talent Jenell Tedjai.

De Verbouwing is a continuation of the collaboration between author Saskia Noort and producer Senf Producties that began with Nieuwe Buren. In the coming years, they will join forces to bring Saskia Noort's books to the shelves.
