PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT

What happens when a soft-spoken activist, a sympathetic storyteller and a diva team up in search of the origins of the world? In this literary punk evening, Mees Van Rijswijk, Johannes Lievens and Marieke Ornelis go back to the beginning. They will watch videos on the production of blood sausage, take an IKEA stool back to the Carpathians and dissect the First Testament. In a mix of stories, songs and poetry, they tackle the question: where did things go wrong?

A makeshift inspection service of value, beyond the production processes of food items and other consumer products. A search for answers in conspiracy theories, myths and gossip. PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT is a colourful attempt to question contemporary power structures by zooming in on the details.

Who: DRIE DAGEN FRIS is the literary collective of Mees van Rijswijk, Marieke Ornelis and Johannes Lievens. Armed with their pens and a drum computer, they conquer your heart, your language and your imagination. The work of DRIE DAGEN FRIS is an indictment of compromise, a poetic manifesto for having fun while everything falls over.
