The Ringoven Panningen

On the western side of Panningen stands the striking ring furnace building, with the furnace itself, the enclosure and the tall chimney as eye-catchers. Once part of the N.V. Heldensche Steenfabriek, this complex was an important part of the local brick industry and remained in use until the early 1990s, being the last traditionally working ring kiln in Limburg. The building then fell into disrepair, but demolition was prevented. After a thorough restoration, the Ringoven was given a new life. Since 2015, it has been a place where you can go for lunch, a meeting, a shopping trip or creative work, with the past still clearly felt in the walls.
