On Sunday 8 November 2026, the centre of Panningen will be dedicated to Orange the World. This new event aims to raise awareness of the fight against violence against women and girls. Through theatre, exhibitions and discussions, Panningen makes the subject accessible for discussion.
Orange the World is a global campaign against violence against women and girls. The colour orange symbolises a future free from violence. The event in Panningen focuses on raising awareness, fostering connections and raising funds for the campaign.
The afternoon begins at 1.00 pm with a joint opening ceremony in the town centre. The ‘Red Bench’ will also be unveiled at this event. This permanent landmark encourages people to engage in conversation with one another and not to turn a blind eye to violence.
Following the launch, you can follow a route taking in various locations in Panningen. Along the way, you’ll come across theatre performances, exhibitions, film screenings and information points. There will also be interactive activities focusing on respect, safety and equality. Shops, hospitality venues and other organisations in the town centre are taking part.
There are activities for all ages. The platform offers space for in-depth stories and information, as well as opportunities to connect and more light-hearted content. You decide for yourself where to start and how much time to spend on each activity.
The event is open to residents of Peel en Maas and visitors from further afield. You are welcome to attend if you’d like to find out more about the topic, show your support or join others in reflecting on safety and equality.
During the afternoon, you can make a donation to Orange the World. At around 5.00 pm, the event will draw to a close and the organisers will announce the total amount raised.
