When will you visit?

*The Bodyguard* will be performed at Maaspoort Venlo from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027. There are evening performances at 8.15 pm and matinee performances at 2.30 pm at the weekend. This makes the musical ideal for a full evening out in Venlo, but also for an afternoon performance followed by a bite to eat or a drink in the city.

What to expect.

*The Bodyguard* takes you on a journey through the story of global superstar Rachel Marron and former secret agent Frank Farmer. She lives in the spotlight; he is hired to protect her. What begins as a professional assignment gradually develops into an intense dynamic of attraction, repulsion, duty and emotion. Meanwhile, a menacing stalker is closing in.

The show is set to the music of Whitney Houston. You’ll hear well-known songs such as ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’, ‘Greatest Love of All’ and, of course, ‘I Will Always Love You’. According to Maaspoort, this is a modern, spectacular concert show in which two worlds come together. The leading roles are played by, amongst others, Gaia Aikman and Dorian Bindels.

Expect a full evening of musical theatre for *The Bodyguard*. The exact end time may vary per performance, so allow some time before and after your visit. The performance takes place in the Hela Hall at Maaspoort. Tickets are available from €60.50, depending on the date and seating category, and according to Maaspoort, cloakroom facilities and refreshments are included. The Golden Category discount for Friends does not apply to this performance.

Parking is available nearby at Q-Park Maasboulevard and Q-Park Nolensplein, both about a 4-minute walk away, and at Q-Park Maaswaard, about an 8-minute walk away. Maaspoort advises leaving in good time during busy periods, such as Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Dogs are not permitted in a full theatre auditorium, except for certified assistance dogs where this has been properly arranged in advance. For visitors with hearing impairments, a free induction loop system is available and can be booked in advance. For wheelchair spaces or adapted seating, it is advisable to contact Maaspoort in good time.

Fancy a bite to eat beforehand? Then you can extend your visit with ‘Begin bij SIN’, a theatre dinner featuring hot and cold dishes to share, served in three courses. According to Maaspoort, you can let them know about any dietary requirements or allergies upon arrival.

Our tip

Book a matinee on a Saturday or Sunday if you’d like to make a relaxing day of it. You’ll then have time for lunch in Venlo town centre before the performance, and afterwards there’ll be plenty of time for a walk along the River Maas or an early dinner.

From Maaspoort, it takes just a few minutes by car and around 5 minutes by bike. You can view modern and contemporary art there and then stroll straight on towards the city centre. From the main venue, you can walk there almost straight away; by car or bike, you don’t really even need to set off.
