until 28 November
De Schoolbel is a temporary open-air museum based at the former Don Bosco School in Boekend, where old school memories, stories and artefacts from former pupils and villagers come together.
Who still remembers the smell of the classroom, the sound of the school bell and the games in the school playground? At the pop-up museum ‘De Schoolbel’, your primary school days come back to life. The former Don Bosco School in De Boekend serves as the starting point. Through photographs, artefacts, stories and memories, you’ll discover what it was like to be at school between 1945 and 1990 – from the classroom and the school playground to lessons, games and special school moments. The exhibition has been created from the stories and memories of former pupils, teachers, residents of Boekend and today’s children. This makes De Schoolbel not just a look back at the past, but also a meeting of the generations. And as a visitor, you can contribute too: share your memories and add your school story to the museum. Come along, reminisce and, above all, relive your own school days.
