During the Nachtcross in Kessel, autocross drivers compete against each other as soon as night falls. You’ll see fast qualifying rounds, thrilling heats and a final where it all comes together. Along the track, you can hear the engines roaring and feel the tension mounting.
The Nachtcross begins with races for young drivers and mini buggies. This is followed by the qualifying rounds and heats for the main Nachtcross. Drivers aim to qualify directly for the final. If they do not succeed straight away, they are given another chance during the repechage.
To kick things off, the participants will be introduced to the public during an introductory round. Then the lights will come on and the Nachtcross can begin.
Ahead of the Nachtcross, there is a programme for young people and juniors. The mini-buggies will also be appearing at the start several times. This means the action gets underway in the afternoon and there’s plenty to see right into the evening.
Once the races are over, the fun continues in the marquee. The prizes will also be presented during the Nachtcrossparty.
The Nachtcross is ideal for motorsport enthusiasts, families with older children and visitors who enjoy a lively atmosphere. Please bear in mind that it can be busy and noisy along the track. Ear protection is therefore no luxury, especially for children.
Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty. On a motocross track, sand, dust and mud are all part of the experience.
