A show about iconic Venloner Funs van Grinsven (1908-2003) His songs, poems, lost film footage and his daughters give an insight into an adventurous life full of emotion and fantasy. Sef Thissen, Rob Hodselmans and Egbert Derix have joined forces to put on this special performance. Thissen, Hodselmans and Derix are of course no strangers to Venlo's cultural life. Singer Thissen has been bringing the music spectacle Viva Classic to the city for years. Filmmaker Hodselmans is the maker of the mega-successful ´Nao ´t Zuuje´ , the documentary on the Venlo Vastelaovend for which pianist Derix played and composed the music based on Venlo songs. For their performance ´Funs!´ they will talk to the daughters of Van Grinsven, who will shed new light on Funs´ life as father, husband and artist. A performance where the well-known songs of Funs van Grinsven are combined with texts and poems that have never seen the light of day. Poetry by Funs that will be provided with new music by Egbert Derix.
